The client program is organized in the manner of a building game and is stacked to form a program volume in the form of a ziggurat. The volumes are organized to optimize the constructive system and structure the angle av. martyrs / new street.The XENOCS laboratory is released from a constraining stage. The building has views to the landscape from the public space / from the internal spaces. The angle av. martyrs evidenced to accommodate the main entrance. The volumes are shifted very slightly to create a dynamic and protect the lower floors of the South exposure.

规划概念

1/此设计意图分开三条轴线:二条为车行道,一条为服务于90%的人流和面积的步行街。
二条车行道分布在步行街的南北两侧,在连通两侧的停车场的同时,服务于项目10%的人群和面积。
停车场分布在场地内南北两侧。并且,步行街主入口在东西两侧的欧阳路和宝安路上,所以人流会从所有的方向汇集到中心步行街。
2/步行街是此项目主要的交通枢纽。它连通一个中心广场和一个展览空间,还直接连通所有办公楼的大堂。可以说步行街就是整个项目的“大堂”。它是此项目最重要的空间。

3/在一层,建筑主要的面积都用于商业。工作在二层以上约40000m2办公空间的人群会穿越步行街进入各个办公楼。所以商业会很快从步行街开始发展,逐渐会蔓延至邻近的街道空间,从而会营造出一个极富吸引力的办公与商业环境。

Urban Concept:

1/The project proposes to separate 3 main axis : 2 access road mainly for cars and 1 central walking street that lead to 90% of the project’s surface.
The Road access are located on the north and south side of the walking street. They lead to the car park area and to a minor part of the project’s surface : 10%
Parking lots will be located alongside the main car access street. Besides, main pedestrian access are located on the east and west side of the side, on baoan and ouyang road. Thereore, users will access to the central street from all directions.
2/The walking street is the main access of the project. It leads to the central square and temporary exhibition space, It also links to the Main lobbies of all the office Building. In that way the walking street act like the lobby of the project. it is the most important space.
3/On the ground floor, all the building are mainly occupied by commercial surfaces. 40 000m2 of Office building workers will enter their working spaces from the central pedestrian street, it will be the first street to develop. Gradually all the adjacent street will develop and create and very attractive environment both for office and commercial use.

所有办公楼的大堂都紧密连接在步行街两侧。在约40000m2的办公空间工作的大量人群会每天穿越步行街进入各自的办公楼,所以步行街将会是非常活跃的地带。

在二层,10号楼和1-4-7号楼会被一个新的环廊串联在一起。人们可以这里游逛找到他们想要的东西。环廊的设计是为了帮助商业更好的发展:因为一条走不通的走廊不适宜商业的发展。

所有的商业功能都围绕这个环廊分布在一层和二层。所以功能的联系会非常紧密,功能密度很大,这不仅仅会吸引日常办公的的人群,而且会吸引一大部分外面的游客。
此概念是创造一种建筑结构空间,各个商业功能可能会随时间更换。但此环廊的作用会一直存在。

Architecture Concept

The project, on a architectural point of view, propose to superimpose 2 elements.
One the ground floor, the pedestrian street is linked with a square. It is the location of many activities : people can gather, brands can promote their products during the weekend, artists can realize performances.

The temporary exhibition space act like the extension of the square. It is like a covered square and can be widely opened to the outside and to the pedestrian street.

All the office building lobby gathers around the pedestrian street. Around 40 000m2 of office users will therefore enter the project from this space that will, therefore, be very active.

On the second floor, #10 and #1-4-7 building are linked together to create circuit. People can walk around and discover many activities. It is also a way to help people to make business: dead-ends corridor are usually strictly prohibited when designing stores or mall.

The entire program are distributed on the 1st and 2nd floor by this principal. Programs are therefore linked together to create a program density that will attract not only daily office users but also visitors from the outside.
This concept is the architectural structure of the space, the program can change, the main structure will remain.

The project is structured by a very strong circulation circuit that connects the entire program together (first and second floor).
The program is composed of different themes: restaurant, creative space, service and commercial spaces.
We first decided the location of the most constraint full element (staircases, restaurant and service area), the rest of the program, more flexible can be change and will change continuously.

外立面概

改造工程项目的立面必须解决一些问题:造价、空调、保暖、开窗、采光、防水,并且有新的立面视觉效果。
1>在设计的第一阶段。我们研究分析每栋建筑的不同的立面并计算其改造的复杂程度:比如一些立面或者楼体大面积的面向道路或者景观点,设计可能会采取将立面全部进行改造的方式。但是另一些处在偏僻处或者不易看到的建筑和立面,设计上可能只采取粉刷。我们力求一种能表达出每栋建筑每个立面不同程度的重要性与复杂性的方式。

2>在第二阶段:我们用一些材料设计出一种“皮肤”来解决不同的问题。根本上说,就是如何用一种材料创造出多种透明度来满足不同的立面需要。
3>我们找出四种材料可以达到这种效果:Terracotta – Terreal materials, Ferrari Fabric, 木材和钢板或者织物材料。

Facade Concept

Facades of the renovation projects have to answer many questions: Cost, air-conditioning, insulation, windows, sunshades, waterproofing, image of the new building etc.
1>The first step of the process is to analyze each building’s façade and try to estimate the complexity of the renovation : some façade or building, particularly exposed to the view may need a full renovation while some others, at the back of the site may only need to be repainted. Figures1> it represent the way we intend to renovate the façade according to its degree of importance (visibility)

2>The second step is to create a skin with some material that can answer different question. Basically, how to create different transparency with a material in order to face different situations.
3>We found 4 materials that can be suitable for this situation: Terracotta – Terreal materials, Ferrari Fabric, wood and steel panel or fabric material.

Context

The project is located in a hypothetical garden city grid of 36m by 36m. It has therefore no context or, otherwise, all the possible contexts: suburbs, low density residential area, very dense city area etc.
Accordingly, if the project can occur anywhere, it is essential to envisage its requirements in a more general manner: the World as a Global Context.
The following graphic analyzes the fundamental data that define the world evolution in the coming 40years: population, urban sprawl, agricultural land etc

4 houses on a 36x36m piece of land roughly represent a density of (36+9×36+9)/4 or 20 houses/hectares including the road system.
This low density seems not to take into consideration the prerequisite of the context the project takes part in. This is the reason why our proposal for a 2050 garden city targets a density of maximum 50h/ha (40h/ha + offices).

Urban Concept

The 2050 garden city is made up of flexible entities or blocks that are defined by 3 main datas :
1| mixed program: The garden city is not a dormitory town but a living city that includes numerous activities and buildings: houses, offices, parks, stores, kindergarten, sport centers, public service building etc.
2| density: per incorporating more or less houses on its plot, each block can adapt to different density requirement.
3| orientation: in order to maximize the solar gain the density of the block is low on its southern part (more vegetation) but higher on its northern part per including more double storey houses.

House Concept Design

The design of the house is following a 3 steps process:
1| Living Room: according to the required density, a certain amount of living rooms are set on the 36mx36m grid: 4 to 8 living room corresponding to a 20 to 40 h/ha density.
2| Private gardens: every living room opens onto a minimum 6mx6m private garden oriented south or south/west in order to benefit from the maximum of sunshine.
The Living room/garden define the core of the house
3| Program: around the central space of the house imbricate the rest of the program: patios, gardens, offices, kitchen, bedrooms etc.
Each house is surrounded by vegetation, each room open onto the outside. The interior/exterior limits disappear; gardens, patios and courtyards become a room for living.



The Commercial center is located alongside the ShenLong Rd , it is a new heart for the surrounding residential development (Aijia and Wanke).
The Residential Buildings are shaping the shape of the garden that creates a very peaceful and attractive environment for its inhabitants.商业中心位于神龙大道一侧,以后将发展成此住宅区域的核心(爱佳和万科)

The heights of the building are all different. It will decrease from building 2 to building 6 and rise up again from building 7 to 9. The Idea is to create a movement that will symbolize the moment of a dragon on the facade. It also let more sunshine enter in the heart of the project: the park and the kindergarten benefit from the maximum of sunlight.

Context
Guangzhou is the 3rd largest growing city in China’s fastest growing area – the Pearl River Delta (PRD). The PRD region is home to 100 million people and is one of the most urbanized areas in the world. Guangzhou is often considered to be a cultural ‘desert’, but nevertheless, it has many hidden places which often offer positive surprises to the urban experience. One such area is Redtory – a former packaging factory complex. It consists of numerous industrial buildings. Recently, “Red Plant” underwent a major revival in response to the occupation of many of its buildings by creative and enthusiastic individuals and organizations, who infused the complex with bars, restaurants, design studios and art galleries. The result is a unique and dynamic enclave for members of the progressive and independent art community.Project Intro.The aim of the project is to express a vision for the revitalization and reuse of a silo in the former packaging factory complex of Redtory, in Guangzhou, China.
The projects consist of creating a space for young designers and artists. Considering the proposal’s range of possible program the development should be capable of providing work space for more than one hundred design students and professionals.

The site and the existing building show very strong characteristics that will be either preserved or emphasized in the renovation process.
First, the position of the silo within the site. Surrounded by water, it appears as an island, a floating object that gives a strong feeling of monumentality.
Then the remarkable form of the silo : a massive, round in shape wall, that raise the question of its content.
Our project aims to highlight these main features.
The concept of the project is to create an artistic incubator : a place encouraging artistic interaction, ideas proliferation and visual stimulus.
Young creatives, as small cells, will develop inside this core until they reach an artistic maturity and eventually break out to the outside world to continue their progress.
The architectural project aims to express this idea of proliferation, creativity and liberation with boxes escaping from the silo.
Several boxes accommodate the various workshops and classrooms. They are linked by a continuous and irregular space.
Sometimes narrow, it’s only a corridor.
Sometimes wide, it becomes a lobby area or an exhibition space, where students, teachers and visitors can meet and exchange views.
This free space is flexible and can be appropriate for extraordinary events, while the boxes answer to the elementary needs of the school.

The programme answers to 2 purposes :
– the education which appears in the guise of teaching rooms. They regroup workshops (painting & drawing, sculpture, industrial art, multimedia), studios (design, photography, reprography, music) and classrooms.
– the communication which represents the public part of the school. It concerns the circulation area, the exhibition halls, the gallery, the auditorium (for lecture), the meeting room, the cafe and the roof terrasse.
The roof, which covers the ground floor, is accessible and provides a pleasant outside space.
It is partly made of glass, which brings natural light inside the building, and partly made of green spaces.
A mineral plaza, surrounded by the 3 higher boxes, can be the place for some open-air reception.
This refurbishment radically changes the perception that we have from the silo.
Thanks to the openings of the massive wall, the building appears less impenetrable, while the boxes emerging out of the silo underlines the new life that takes place inside. The added elements distinguish themselves from the old construction with a contemporary style, that mark the present time.

In Q1 2019, RBC Renault Bucharest Connected will become the new home of Groupe Renault Romania and this stands proof to our experience of building solid relationships with some of the largest corporations in the world. The future RBC will benefit from excellent public transportation with easy access to any point in the city (subway, bus), but also close to other entities, such as the Titu Technical Center and the Mioveni factories, which will facilitate the movement of employees to and from the workplace. The building will incorporate a design centre, where their specialists will design the future cars models

RBC Renault Bucharest Connected est un nouveau centre du Groupe Renault en Roumanie. Le projet accueille 3 200 salariés au sein de 2  bâtiments regroupant les bureaux et le nouveau centre de Design pour un total de 48 000m2.

The project is clearly organized :
From the lift, visitors and staff access to the lobby area / all the area for REPRESENTATION by walking through the showroom area.
All the functions that welcome visitors are located on the south-west wing of the layout, people cannot access to the rest of the floor without security access.
The staff, including manager and director are working in the same open space that opens toward the outside to benefit from the stunning view of Shanghai xintiandi area and the maximum of natural light. These ensemble constitute what we call a TEAM or departments.
These teams, are seperated by various kinds of COLLABORATION AREA: these space are located at strategic location, not only they offer a great view, but also due to the shape of the building, these areas wouldn’t be efficient for workstations.
Collaboration room can either be enclosed for private discussion and brainstorming, or open to gather more people if needed.
Their foldable partition are made of glass panels not to block the veiw and narutal light from entering the space.
Each team is connected within another via the MAIN CORRIDOR. this loop line allow people to easily access to the entrances, fire escapes but also meeting rooms, copy areas storage, ie to al the AMENITIES.该项目平面布置很清晰:

所有为迎接访客设置的功能均位于平面的西南翼,他们没有门禁卡不能进入公司其余地方。
所有员工以及经理和主管都在开放区域工作,这里可以一览上海新天地的美景,享受充足的自然光线。这些整体构成了我们所说的团队或部门。
多个合作交流空间将这些部门分隔开:这些空间之所以被设置在这里不仅因为他们能提供很棒的办公室风景,同时也由于原建筑的形状使得这些区域不能有效用于办公区。
合作交流空间既可以封闭起来用于私人讨论和头脑风暴,或开放如果需要可以集合更多的人。
其可折叠隔断均采用玻璃这样不会阻隔风景及自然光线进入到整个空间。
每个团队通过主走廊与其他团队连接。这个循环线让员工轻松出入入口,消防通道,还有会议室,打印区,储存室等所有的辅助功能。


The central patio is one of the most important space in the office design part. it connects all the floors together as a DISTRIBUTION CORE :on the ground floor, the lobby and its exhibition area will be linked with the 2nd Floor collaborative area and other amenities (canteen, customer experience and training rooms)

Moreover, the central patio will create a feeling of space and provide the office area with the maximum of natural light. (A sky window could be installed on the roof to provide more light: optional)

Conceptually, the stair is a ribbon in motion reflecting the dynamism of Owens Corning.


From the ground floor, the visitors will enter through the reception area that is adjacent to an exhibition hall that is open toward the TP lab (large fire proof glass wall).From this space, it is also possible to have a look inside the newly created ‘Material Design Center.
The OC staff can access to the office part and to the lab directly from the exhibition area.
The circulation, shapes of the glass and materials on the ground were directly inspired by the ‘arc’ of the OC logo. The red color, is also a reference to OC corporate identity color and will help us design warm, friendly and dynamic working environment.
On the 2nd floor, the 2 most important functions are the Customer Experience and the Collaborative area.
The Customer Experience is directly accessible from the 1st floor and will be open toward the TS and TP labs.
The collaboration area act as a gathering point between the different programs: meeting rooms, training, customer experience, canteen…
It is a large space, freely arranged in order to act as a MULTIPURPOSE ROOM. From a lounge and warm atmosphere, it can turn into a reception area, and projection room for gathering, parties or client presentation.




Japanese designers are present leaders at various disciplines such as architecture, industrial products and fashion.
The very unique sensibility of its culture has molded the very particular scenery of the Omotesando Street: the location of the Tokyo 2010 Fashion Museum architecture competition.We aim to create a very unique architectural building that can not only become a landmark of Tokyo but also an outstanding exhibition space for the whole world fashion industry.Our design is inspired by a tailor very essential tool: a tape or ribbon measure.From the top floors, where is located the skybar to the ground floor, the exhibition spaces are totally open to tokyo’s fantastic urbanscape. These platforms act like stages where is showcased the permanent and temporary exhibition spaces.These spaces, the core of the tower, are wrapped by the circulation like that a ribbon spiraling all the way from the lobby to the rooftop, arriving at a promontory that seems to fly into the sky.People may chose to access directly the top floors using the lifts and then walk down the 800m long exhibition promenade or to walk up the ramp from the lobby.
By linking together the City, Society and the Fashion industry, this new Museum Tower will become an essential tool for Tokyo: an incubator for the young designers, a showcase for the Japanese fashion industry and a museum for the future generations.







   






 

0 The city of Montreuil is facing new challenges to reconnect its boroughs: welcome an increasing population, maintains its existing activities, creates jobs, and attracts new potentials. We believe it is important to analyze and design a new urban block to solve these issues. How different will that block be? What changes must operate to cater with the new needs of the city 2.0?
Observing the city in a wide scale, the block 2.0 must connect and be connected: all the ramifications that can irrigate it shall be treated carefully. Thus, our desire is to create sutures to strengthen the weakened urban fabric: bike lanes, streets, foot path, alleys etc.
Some important axes should regain their true & original status: for example the S. Allende Blvd. incorporating bike lanes, new sidewalks and completing the alignments of trees is necessary.
More specifically, we want to return to the pre-A186 urban fabric: literally sew the Upper and Lower Montreuil, recreating the former grid that used to bond the two neighborhoods with one another.
The area reclaimed on the A186 is a great opportunity for Montreuil which can create a space of representation and socialization for its citizens: this area can be organized as a long gigantic public square which can accommodate many activities: market place, cultural and festive events, fêtes de la Music etc.

 

On a smaller scale, the block must exercise a power of attraction on the population: we believe that this aspect is inseparable from its densification which will have the effect of concentrating many diverse activities in one place: accommodation, offices, services and public facilities etc.
In addition we want to preserve within our proposal the existing economic activities that are very employment generating: The block 2.0 must live!
To achieve this goal, we want to develop an adaptable / adjustable block which must meet two requirements:> A constraint of integration, the new block must slip in the existing environment, create as many square meter as possible without inserting conflicting elements: avoid scale clash, create a transition between low existing building and new denser building.> A constraint in terms of program: housing, offices, cultural and educational functions as well as business premises and logistics activities.
The question that must meet the future block 2.0 is therefore a problem of density, connection and consequently of integration within the existing fabric.

In a first step, our project proposes to enunciate the principles of a methodology that aims to create a new urban block meeting the ambitions outlined above.

Thereafter, we will adapt the methodology to each of the three sites proposed by Europan in order to create a tailor made project for each plot: Boissière, Roche and Signac.

The urban Block 2.0 consists of 4 elements that work in symbiosis:

 

A PERIMETER, which follows the periphery of the plot, and materialize the limit between the public and (semi) private space. This contour that confronts with the existing fabric shall respect its template and typology. Indeed, the Project wants to adapt with the context and prevent excessive scale conflicts.

A CORE (the iceberg), which occupies the central part of each island, symbolizes the renewal of each neighborhood, it is a landmark and orientation element in the city.

A GARDEN / PARK, or rather different types of green areas: vegetable gardens for residents and schools, recreational areas, picnic, strolls, private backyards adjoining the urban villas, biodiversity areas and even larger spaces for sports activities.

 

A BASEMENT which breaks down into two parts:
First, the underground located below the perimeter mostly host the vehicles of the block users and the cellars of the apartment units.

 

The submerged part of the iceberg is occupied mostly by digital storage and logistics activities: the city’s appetite for distribution and data centers never ceasing to grow, we believe that these places are ideal for this function. They not only create activity and jobs but also generate a lot of heat that can be redistributed to neighboring buildings!

In conclusion, this tailor made urban block or block 2.0 is a new form of urban cluster, which perfectly meets the evolving needs of the modern city (density, mobility, activities, diversity of typologies etc.) while respecting the existing urban fabric. We hope that its development can reconcile previously contradictory concepts: density, landscape, high-rise building, living environment, proximity, green space, work, rest etc.

LibraREActor is the name of our concept for the Copenhagen library 2.0 project.

Following the hybrid trend of organizations in modern societies, LibraREActor proposes a dialogue between the traditional library, and an interactive hi-tech platform, which will be called the Brain.

The main structure of the libraREActor is functioning as a very traditional library: a generous vertical space, flooded with natural lights and surrounded by shelves that cover the walls from the bottom to the top. On the other side, right in the center of the building is located its core, a brain-shape structure which will hold a media center, with meeting rooms, an auditorium, digitalization and research centers. Inside the core will also be located the library`s offices and storages. It proposes an exchange between tradition and modernity as a way of meeting the needs of both.

The concept, as well as the shape of the project, is a metaphor in which the building itself works as an energy generator or reactor, transforming books and physical documents into digital data through its core. In this concept, the users may be compared to electrons, moving from the traditional to the modern pole and vice versa.

The libraREActor will be a public digital hub and an interactive researching space for the city of Copenhagen and its citizens.








Brief analysis of GAP Brooklyn, enlighten several issues: chaotic traffic organization, original composition is lacking visibility, public space not appropriable by the citizens, social activities lack diversity and finally the gap is currently not acting as a link between the 4 surrounding districts.

raffic had to be completely reconsidered and clarified. We want to reorganize the GAP like the Tilsit St. around the French place de l’Etoile in Paris (Round in shape square, Champs Elysees). Cars run around the center public space that is totally free of cars and therefore appropriated by the passersby. It is the scene of various activities.
Pedestrian and car traffic flows are now distinguished.
Gap central space is also suffering from being totally divorced from its periphery by a large, thick and dense green bank that is totally impassable. Our design proposes to prolong the surrounding street (perpendicular to plaza st.) toward the center of the square by cutting off this green barrier. Only the trees at these specific locations will be removed and all others will be kept. Consequently, the GAP is physically acting as a center: the 4 surroundings districts are linked together.

The original composition of the GAP is totally blurred by the present organization of the traffic. Our design will reinforce the original composition, by both emphasizing the ovular shape (traffic) and creating an HISTORICAL STRIP (pedestrian) that follows a north-south direction.
Alongside this historical axis are set all the major monuments of the plaza: The mise-en-scene starts from the north with the ‘urban theatre’ (music concerts, skateboarding, performances: view 02) runs through the central fountain and ends on the south part of the GAP at the polyvalent square (Sailor’s arch, market, starting point of the carnival etc: view 05)

The major goal of the GAP renovation project is not only to create a physical center but also a social Center of gravity for the surrounding districts. ACTIVITY SLOPES is our concept to organize a social and cultural point of interest: their function is open for discussion but we propose an art (walk thru) gallery, neighborhood house with basketball court atop, small café and restaurants with terrace, newspaper kiosk, etc…
The green slopes are open to the public, and can be used as a playfield, sculpture exhibition, picnic area, sunbathing area, etc.The GAP plaza has fantastic potential given its strategic location, generous scale and beautiful composition. We want our design not only to emphasize its assets but going beyond by creating a scene for various activities. GAP has to take an important role in the urban activity of the Brooklyn borough and little by little reaching the Symbolic value it deserves.

Plaza St.
Sidewalks of Plaza St. East and West are expanded to create a buffer zone from the buildings ground floor to the roads. The car park will only be allowed on the periphery of the GAP plaza, not alongside the Plaza St sidewalk.Car Traffic
3 rows of cars running one-way counter clockwise will drain the whole traffic flow. The inner part of the square becomes a car-free zone. Traffic lights at strategic points allow pedestrians to reach the center part of the plaza.Historical Axis
All the historical monuments, according to the existing composition, are set on a north-south axis; nevertheless, their access is discontinued due to the existing traffic condition. Our design proposes to create a strip that links them altogether along a stroll.Permeability
From the surrounding of the square, the green areas have become permeable to sight toward the center of the square.
All the surrounding streets perspective will end up inside the GAP plaza: it finally becomes a new crossroad and the gathering point of all the adjacent districts.Existing Trees
Our design fully respects the existing trees. Nevertheless, some trees may have to be removed or relocated to manage some accesses to the center of the plaza.Program
Our program (opened for discussion) was designed to create a new social center of gravity for the districts. Various activities will enrich the experience of the GAP plaza.





The redline are is long and narrow, and long, 16m by almost 200m, in order to satisfy the regulation, client’s requiements, and the surrounding, the design of the villa is adapting the sites; for the villas to enjoy the maximum of the natural ventilation and light, the villas are taking the full wide of the site, so there is enough distance in between to be comfortable, and using the local natural material to be in harmony with the nature arround.
WThe redline are is long and narrow, and long, 16m by almost 300m. The topography of the zone B has a sharp slope, the villas in this zone has to adapt to the site, each level of the villas are setback to connect with the slope, like a “stairs”, every setback creates a terrace of balcony to enjoy the view of the nature. Same as the villas on the zone A, the villas are taking the full wide of the site, so there is enough distance between then to be comfortable.

CITY

is a Various accomodations, a park, public facilities, a supermarket, officies…a lot of facilities will be concentrated on the site : it will assert itself as a new center for the neighborhood. The concentration of activity will make him become a new urban pole. The challenge is to work its image: what will bring him a strong identity.
The stake is to articulate and integrate the new district within the city, creating a new context for the context.

SITE

The project proposes to structure the place with what we regard as the principal polarity (the first urban facility) : the park, the place of social mixing par excellence. It is in some kind a piece of nature : what people seeks in the suburbs; in qddition to the park, the mineral spacesplanted with trees and the interiors of the blocks wil tend to get a feeling of countryside.
The whole is organized around what is for us the metaphor of the country villages, as well for their social as their economic qualities : the blocks. During the process of conception, they are confronted with the context adapt to it, and end up being integrated in the city fabric in a movement of tectonics.

URBAN ISLANDS

i Each block contains about thirty families to reach a density of 30 residences per hectare. Moreover, the blcks can be affected with an urban function ; convenience stores, liberal professions, supermarket post office, house of district, etc…
They operate in a centrifugal way : their hearts are like a huge lobby opened to the public where the houses are emphasized and are represented by their small garden. inside, the house opens completely on the park: the inhabitants take visually advantage of the park, make it safe, or even keep it up!

HOUSES

The blocks are made up of a great diversity of residences : from studios to houses with five bedrooms. They answer in proportions a richly varied population.
Thus the most widespread typology is the new urban house. It is composed, in our project, with the image of what people seeks in a suburban house. It has a garden, a splendid sight onto an ersatz of countryside, a private entry, 3 parking spaces, a garden for sunbathing and eating outside, a large storage space (the attic)…

Vichy Val D’Allier strategy .
The Vichy Val d’Allier conurbation combines economic activities linked to well-being, relaxation and leisure, with dynamic industrial activities : cosmetics, agri-food, biomedical, electronics and engineering. The Montpertuis Palazol site was occupied from 1937 by the firm Manurhin Défense, a subsidiary of GIAT industries, specialising in the manufacture of arms and munitions. Closed in 2006, the site is currently undergoing explosives safety work which will be completed in 2015. Recovering the site is a major priority for the town’s economic development at the heart of the Clermont-Ferrand Riom Vichy metropolitan region. VVA wishes to reopen an attractive zone on the town’s left bank to the population and to introduce new uses, in an area where road access is set to improve.An industrial and economic role, with a diversity of
activitiesThe activities that may potentially be introduced are very diverse, both in their nature and type of premises.This industrial campus must be able to meet demand for premises ranging from 200 to 10,000 m². Ideas about the planning and layout of the space should offer modularity and flexibility.

Project Intro.

The ecofabrication is a process, flexible and respectful of its environment.
Its aim is to create a new type of living campus in order to organize and relate the «poles of excellence» inside a wide wooden area.
Those poles, highly connected with one another, will create an incubator enhancing synergies and communication between disciplines. The ecocampus reputation will ultimately cross the mere border of the Vichy district.

Cluster strategy
At a smaller scale, each cluster, follows specific development principles.
7 / The boundaries of the fragment are offset with different distances that allow the future implementation of a rich architectural fabric.
8 / This newly defined area is then confronted to the existing structural elements: rivers, roads, remarkable trees… It is connected to at least one main road. 9 / The ecocentres stretch outwards to connect to the neighbor fragments.This aggregate creates the EcoCampus.

Articulations VERTébrales is a proposal for a high density urban development. The project interacts with the context like a graft by binding to the existing city fabric.

CITY: analysis and goals

e11 raises the question of rebuilding the city over the city: the relationship and dialogue of the project with its surroundings.
The question is not to create an iconic urban development but to propose a spatial organization that is part of the city.
This project revolves around the idea of turning post-industrial areas into a true dialogue with the surrounding residential areas. It takes advantages of all permabilities of the site as a support for a spatial organization: extending the roads, creating green spaces, pedestrian paths etc. All these links will create and smooth the assimilation of the project .
As an alternative to the urban sprawl and high rise developments, the project is based on the idea of a homogenous density of architecture and green.

 

SITE : an architectural an programatic answer

The project will begin with a dialogue between the site borders and its periphery. To the East, the site is confronted with an urban structure of a city center. To the south, it faces imposing dwellings buildings that will make any relation with the canal impossible. To the north, the site ends with the railways creating an insurmountable border. To the East, the site is confronted with small houses. These different face-to-face will encourage a relationship between the new structures and the existing environment.
The main obstacle to the development is located at the south of the site: the canal is only distant from a few hundred meters from the site, however, it is not a structural component and does not bring yet any added value. The Continuation of streets from the city center, over the canal, passing by the high rise development and progressing on the site until the railroads will become the support of our proposal.
The creation of green stripes, based on these axis, will become the support of our urban structure. To these green corridor will be added vital component of functionality and quality of space:
– Walking paths, connected to the bus lines and the new tramway will allow the access to the dwellings, commercial spaces, offices and city facilities newly created.
– Cycle tracks irrigate the whole project to create an alternative to car transportation.
– Resting areas, game fields, green spaces, private or public gardens will mix all the inhabitants and users of all ages of the district. It is to this notion of green belt/structure at the scale of the neighborhood that refers the Articulations VERTébrales

AN ALTERNATIVE TO CARS : beyond the parkings

The project rejects the idea of building a parking lot that will emphasize the image of cars in our society. Instead, we propose to organize the parking as a link between the building in the heart of each plot. These bands are 16m width and totally re-convertible into office space. Indeed, They will also benefit from generous natural lighting.
These parking are the base of a new potential for the plot. The roof is getting green and becoming a space of activity and sociability. It is a melting pot of all the inhabitants, workers, employees, hotel hosts, students… The project goes beyond the constraint of the parking spaces by adding some value in terms of quality of living. This is the so called Articulations VERTébrales at the tscale of the plot.

 

ARCHITECTURE/DWELLINGS : typologies and diversity

We have defined so far the concept of AV: conviviality, life and sociability area, but also a circulation and connection belt that run through the site at two different levels of scale: the district and the plot.
The articulations VERTébrales are developed alongside a North-South axis, from the City center to the suburbs. On the opposite, the architecture is organized as an ‘in between’, following an East-West axis. In this way, all the buildings are connected by the articulations VERTébrales to both the vicinity and all the other buildings of the plot.
The Building structure is organized in stripes between which green areas will be created. The gardens organization will follow a hierarchy going from public to private. These interconnected gardens will create a HYPER green environment, which goal is to compete with the suburban developments.
The architecture is based on large variety of typologies and programs. Based on the same grid, the different part of the program can enlarge, widen, or rise up to match with their functionality: dwellings, offices, commercial areas, hotels and public buildings.
More into details, to focus only on the dwellings, we notice that some apartments enjoy a private garden whiles some others benefit from roof-tops or terrace. The project will develop a wide range of accommodation ranging from studios to the 6 bedroom apartment, respectively from 37 to 200m ².
These typologies will cater with the needs of a large variety of population: single parent family, students, large families, elderly people etc.

At different scales – the city blocks and architecture – the articulations VERTébrales connect the various components of city. They act as bridges across limits, seams between various districts: it is a proposal for an integrated model of dense urban development.

Reception Floor

The reception is located on the 3rd floor on the west side of the building so that it can benefit from the best view.
From the lobby, the visitors can access directly to the GCC meeting room from which they can have a direct view toward the strategic GCC room.
The board room is designed with high-end materials (such as wood, leather etc) It is easily accessible from the reception and can host a total of 45 people. It also includes facilities such as sofa/discussion area and a small pantry.
All the colors selected in the design are based on the Dell interior design guildline. Materials were selected for their durability, environment friendly aspect and price competitiveness.
Dark carpet was chosen in the corridor to better resist to the flow of people.
On the other side, we used a lighter carpet next to the windows to reflect the maximum of natural light toward the inside of the building.

Utility Floor

We designed this floor according to Dell strict requirements in terms of program, surface and technique.
We managed to design this floor in an efficient way so we could provide an extra break room that was not originally required by Dell in the design spec. We thought it was important due to the potential amount of people using this floor.
In all the meeting and training rooms we paid a special attention to the colors we used and the level of acoustic comfort.
Some rooms can also be combined together by opening a large sliding partition.

We decided to return the situation and take advantage of it to locate some program.
The pantry can therefore benefit the maximum of view and natural light.
In the open spaces, meeting rooms are strategically positioned in the center of the spaces.
Large meeting rooms and collaboration area are located in a box located between the pantry and the lobby/access area.
The open spaces were designed to fit the maximum of workstations. We paid attention to the design of each station so that none of them is on a uncomfortable position.

Lobby

The lobby is one of the most important space of DELL BVS Shanghai.
In contrast with the building long corridors and darks spaces, we wanted the lobby to appear very bright to almost reproduce the natural light atmosphere. Each element in the design, materials, colors, furniture provide a coherent message and establish the brand image.
Colors palette strictly follow the DELL brand guidelines, but the blue Dell color is the most dominant color. Materials are very modern; almost abstract (high glossy resin). They must also be durable and environment friendly. In contrast the furniture are very warm and matte.

Conference Room

Meetings are critical for DELL BVS. It is all about: communication and strategy.
The conference room should offer the possibility to be widely open onto the lobby and at the same time to be confidential. The lighting system emphasizes the brightness of the floor to reveal the dynamism of the company. Moreover high end materials (such as leather chairs, wooden finish furniture, and dark grey glossy cabinets) reflect the corporate identity and the quality of service provided by DELL to their clients.

Integration Lab.

The integration labs represent the core function of the BVS Shanghai. These spaces will not only accommodate Dell staff but also potential clients, therefore they have to be very generous in terms of dimension (large corridor, distance behind the workstation and the walls etc).
On the wall is showcased the DELL core values with large motto set randomly on the wall.

Meeting Rooms

The meeting rooms, for 4-6 people, are designed as part of the working areas.
They are multifunctional and welcoming. The Partitions equipped with blinds can turn the room in a private space.
The color takes an important part in these rooms: blue fabric chairs, as a corporate image, and raspberry painting for dynamism and passion.

After more than 60 years of expansion of its road networks, the city of Dallas must now develop its soft transport modes network (walking, cycling).
Our project proposes to create a green pedestrian network whose foundation will rely on an Axis [downtown – commerce bridge – Trinity] that will act as a spine, allowing pedestrians and bicycle riders to travel safely. Moreover, many ramifications that will take root from this axis and will spread in the city in order to gradually expand to eventually create a large scale network.1- Main Streets is turned into a green pedestrian street planted with trees; A service lane will remain in the center for taxis, buses, deliveries and emergencies. Elm and Commerce Street sidewalks will be enlarged to allow the implementation of café terraces and other activities.2- Bridge W. Commerce is turned into an inhabited bridge that incorporates many public facilities such as: swimming pool, outdoor theater, Skate Park, cafe and restaurant, solarium, ramps and stairs, sculpture garden etc.3- The banks of Trinity are converted into public promenade. Pedestrians and bicycle lanes are distinguished in order to create rest areas playgrounds for children.4- Lanes are created to drain the new areas of urban developments. These allow a higher porosity and thus better access to banks of river front from Trinity Blvd.Our project is the cornerstone of a network that aims to transform Dallas in an Eco-city: more soft transport modes, more proximity and more social links

The design of the library after Daegu comes from a reflection based on four fundamental concepts: knowledge / education / culture and ultimately creativity.
– At the individual level, the knowledge are an ensemble of facts, feelings or experiences gained by experience or learning. This notion leads to a more global idea : culture that represent the total of the inherited ideas, beliefs, values shared by a group of people.
Therefore we defined a first conceptual axis : knowledge <–> culture
– Education refers to the act or process of acquiring knowledge led from the childhood the adult age and that aim to methodically develop a faculty. In our hyper technological society, perfect mastery of an expertise becomes necessary to explore new boundaries or to create new concepts.
Thus, We define a second axis of reflection saying that education leads to creativity and research : education <–> creativity
The new Daegu library draws its symbolism in the physical materialization of these two axes. People, converge at their intersection -the center of the library – placing the individuals at the heart of knowledge.
On the Master plan, the cross divides the site into 4 parts: courtyard or gardens recessed into the ground. This gesture allows us to design a lower building by implementing many of the functions into the basement. therefore, the Library will be better integrated not only within the neighborhood but also with the adjacent public park.
Nevertheless, these spaces located in the basement, such as the multipurpose room, auditorium or the lifelong study rooms, will benefit from views towards gardens and plenty of natural light.
The cross layout generates large spaces that are all opened toward the city. It creates a dialogue between the neighborhood and the Library that becomes an new gathering point, a landmark.
Inside the building, the cross organization allows to create a large atrium that will connect each floors with another.
The progression of the visitors in this space occurs in a vertical movement. Starting from the basement, a wide helical staircase leads first to the lobby ( ground floor / street level) and then to the upper floors. A motorized platform, located at the center of the stairwell, assists the disabled people in moving from floors to floors. Finally, a large circular sky-window provides the central space the maximum of natural lights.In conclusion, both the symbolic and shape of the Library reflects a desire to place people at the heart of our concept, the center of the building : the Daegu Library, is above all a place that enhance social encounter and knowledge sharing.



Situated at the very edge of Kowloon, the site of the West Kowloon Cultural Art District Art Pavilion benefits from an astonishing view towards Kowloon & Hong Kong skyline, the bay and the future M+ art museum.

Due to its very strategic location, the Art Pavilion mimics a lighthouse and therefore has to 2 main characteristics:

TO SEE (visibility): not only it offers a unique view and therefore will become a main tourist attraction but it is also designed to look beyond the horizon by observing the world art scene.

TO BE SEEN (perception): it is also meant to be seen, like a monumental living sculpture/structure that symbolizes contemporary art and prefigures the soon to be constructed M+ art museum.

The Project proposes to transcend the mere function of exhibition by creating a both indoor/outdoor aerial promenade that will showcase art and the very futuristic cityscape of Hong Kong: the COSMIC TRIP.

One Trip, indoor, runs through the exhibition halls that are all connected to one another by staircases. Walking up through the different spaces, visitors are constantly confronted to both art and the city as a stunning background.

Another Trip, outdoor, connects the roof tops of each exhibition halls and leads the visitors to the top of the Pavilion. This promenade, open to the public 24/7, is the perfect location for sculpture exhibition.

Cosmic Trip is a pavilion, a sculpture, a light house, a landmark, an art gallery, a museum, an outdoor stage, a performance area, an observation point, a gathering point, a symbol…

L’implantation des différentes parties composant le projet est conditionnée par des éléments fondamentaux :

1> Le positionnement de la remise est certainement le critère le plus important. L’objectif est de faciliter le départ en intervention, donc l’accès au rond point de la D910. Afin de limiter au maximum les temps d’arrêts, la remise est disposée perpendiculairement à la rue du Lt Collart, en face du rond point. La circulation est contrôlée par des feux, activés directement par la SA.
Outre un départ en intervention optimum, cette disposition permet d’éviter le croisement de flux entre les véhicules sortant et entrant dans le site.

2> Le Parvis d’honneur doit bénéficier de bonnes conditions d’ensoleillement. En d’autre terme, la foule ne doit ni être dans l’ombre du bâtiment ni ébloui par le soleil en observant l’orateur. Le parvis est un espace polyvalent, structuré par la façade principale du CSP et qui a terme pourra être relié à la promenade verte.

3> La division privée (CSP) / public (ERP sport).
Le projet offre une division très claire entre les espaces dédiés aux sapeurs pompiers et les espaces partagés tels que le hall de sport, les locaux des jeunes sapeurs pompiers etc. Si le public ne peut en aucun cas pénétrer dans la caserne, en revanche les sapeurs pompiers ont un accès direct à la salle de sport.

4> L’orientation des logements vers l’Est permet de bénéficier au maximum de la lumière du soleil levant. Couplé à un système de volet, il permet d’offrir de très bonnes performances tant acoustiques que thermiques. De plus les logements ont une vue directe sur le jardin-patio et leur position permet un départ en intervention aisé.

5> Toutes les zones vertes et la salle de sport s’ouvrent vers le sud afin de relier au mieux le projet avec la future extension urbaine prévue notre site et le village de Biard. Les zones d’entrainements quand à elles sont contenues entre la façade ouest du projet et les hangars de l’aéroport afin de limiter leur visibilité depuis l’extérieur du site.

Contemporary art is no longer limited by constraints or boundaries so how and why try to contain it? THE STRIPES CONCEPT

Our proposal for APCO worldwide Shanghai new Office, is to organize the space into different stripes, each of them fulfilling a different function.
The most important space, in the axis of the main entrance of the office facing the Taicang road, is a large 6m x 17m (110m2) rectangular in shape multi-functional room. This space, the center of our concept strategy for the APCO office, proposes different configurations in order to accommodate various kind of meeting, events or gathering. Please refer to the drawings page 17-18 to observe the different options.
On the left side of the Mullti-functional room are located 4 service rooms: IT room, storage room, Mother room and, next to the entrance, a small room for interview or short meetings.
On the right side, shelves, kitchen counter and other storage elements are concealed behind polycarbonate sliding door. We believe this way to organize the space not only provide a very interesting background to the multi-purpose room and also allow us to save a lot of space in terms of circulation, besides it is very functional.
On the right wing of the office, the working area is very clearly organized into 3 parts. A very comfortable 1.60m large hallway distributes 7 private offices (including 2 large manager office and a copy/storage area) on the left side and a very bright and open toward the outside open space that includes 42 working station (including 4 manager desk) and a 6 people meeting table.
We believe this layout optimized each square meter of the office and goes beyond the client requirements
by offering more space and functionality.

Structure:
The road system clearly define the structure of the site. From the main south entrance, a main axis distribute all the functions of the Alstom project: Main factory building, Office building, parking lot, canteen, RD center etc
Location:
The main office building location will respect and reinforce the site composition by prolonging the factory south façade toward the East. The office will be clearly visible from the entrance and will mark the angle of the Alstom Wuhan Project.
The parking lot is facing the south façade of the building, respective the South entrance Feng Shui principle to enter the building.
